Really sad news, Mike - RIP Chris. Hopefully you can get some comfort from his pain being over.
In these early stages the best advice I was given was to actually try and not think about them. Seems a bit odd, but the less you think about them the less time you'll spend being heart broken. The first few months are the most painful, so keep as busy as you can for now.
There'll be plenty of time to remember him once you get over this initial shock that he's no longer with you.

So sorry for your loss and RIP.
Been in your shoes, mate - I lost my only brother to cancer on March 31st this year.
He fought bravely for five years and we had been optimistic he was finally turning a corner.
Then, after another hopeful treatment, the cancer spread to his brain and he was dead within ten days.
Cancer is indeed a bastard.
If some doctor or biologist finds a cure against cancer one day it'll be worth a dozen Nobel prizes in one go...
